Applied Digital Learning

Completing the EDLD program has been an incredible journey. One that challenged me, inspired me, and helped me grow in ways I never imagined. This marks my second master’s in education, and this time I approached the program fully engaged, determined to push myself despite personal challenges. To all of my military family members and anyone navigating mood disorders, I want to say: you can accomplish great things too. I didn’t always think I could complete this program. There were moments when I felt overwhelmed, cried, and almost gave up.

I am especially grateful for professors like Dr. Johnson, who motivated me in ways I cannot fully express. Their guidance and encouragement helped me persevere. I also owe a great deal to my classmates, particularly Mrs. Hensley and others, whose moral support and shared insights lifted me during challenging times. For someone like me with severe anxiety, participating in group discussions and building connections sometimes felt like a monumental task—but leaning into these opportunities ended up being one of the most valuable aspects of the program.

While some professors didn’t fully understand my vision, I stayed true to my goals, pushed through challenges, and remained engaged in meaningful ways. This program pushed me further than my first degree ever did, expanding my knowledge, sharpening my leadership skills, and giving me practical strategies to support diverse learners. I am leaving the program with new ideas, renewed confidence, and a clearer vision for the future.

I look forward to kicking off my doctoral program this summer, armed with the lessons, connections, and resilience I developed during my EDLD experience. This journey has reinforced that even when the path feels impossible, persistence, engagement, and support from mentors and peers can help you achieve more than you ever thought possible.

Stay tuned for my next ePortfolio, where I will share my doctoral journey and new projects!
